Bailenga was born in Alessandria in 2020 from the meeting of Elisa Guarraggi and Pietro Ariotti.

The project combines Elisa’s expertise in vocal work, social theatre, and performative action with Pietro’s skills in jazz composition, ethnomusicology, and pedagogy.

The fusion of these elements has given rise to a unique form of participatory concert, where the audience is directly involved in polyphonic singing, folk dancing, and theatrical play.

Over time, Bailenga has grown through research trips focused on instrumental music and polyphonic traditions of the Mediterranean area, leading to the creation of an original sound that blends Italian folk with world music, and to the development of concerts, educational programs, and socially engaged projects.
